Pedigree Assignment |
A World of Breeds Over 200 horses of a wide variety of breeds, most of which are available as sires/dams, reside at Distant Fire Ridge. We specialize in breeding fine American Saddlebreds (and other gaited horses) and champion Thoroughbreds. Our stock horse, Arabian, and warmblood departments have also been growing steadily. A few ponies, some Iberian horses, and other horses of various and mixed breeding can be found as well.
Our breeding policy here is that mares and stallions must be at least three years of age before being bred, with the exception of a few special cases where there would be a surrogate mare if the chosen mare has not reached the age of three. Individualized breeding policies can be found on breed and/or horse pages.
Along with a picture of each horse, you will find physical information, show placings, progeny, pedigree information, and any other useful information. When planning a breeding, please make sure that the horse(s) that you choose is/are the same breed as the offspring and that the color of the foal is a possible outcome of the crossing of the parents' color. Please make sure that the two horses you have chosen as parents are not brother and sister/sire and daughter/dam and son. |
